Bulk attachment lets you select several assets in Fileflare and attach them to up to 50 Shopify products in one action. The product selection happens in Shopify’s own picker, so you can search, filter, and browse the same catalog you use elsewhere in the Shopify admin.
This workflow is for attaching assets that are already in your Fileflare library. If you need to map a much larger catalog by SKU, use Bulk attach via CSV instead.
When you’d use this
- The same PDF, bonus file, terms document, or content pack belongs on several products.
- You want to attach a group of assets without opening every product separately.
- Your catalog is small enough to work in batches of up to 50 products.
How to use it
1. Select assets
Open Assets in Fileflare. Use the tabs and filters to find the files or URLs you need, then select each row you want to attach.
The action bar stays visible as you move down the page. Selection applies to the current page; there isn’t a select-all-across-pages option.
2. Open the product picker
Choose the action for attaching the selected assets to products. Fileflare opens Shopify’s product picker.
3. Choose products
Search, filter, or browse your Shopify catalog, then select up to 50 products. Confirm the selection to attach every selected asset to every selected product.
If you need more than 50 products, repeat the action with the next group or use the SKU-based CSV workflow.
4. Check the result
Back in the asset library, check On products for the selected assets. You can also open one of the Shopify products in Fileflare to confirm the assets appear there.
Assets attached at the product level deliver for every variant. If different variants need different files, open the product in Fileflare and attach the files to each variant instead. See Variants and file delivery for the full model.
Common issues
- The picker stops at 50 products. That’s the limit for one bulk attachment action. Confirm the first group, then repeat with the next group.
- I need to attach hundreds of files and products. Use Bulk attach via CSV to map Fileflare asset names to Shopify SKUs.
- The product doesn’t appear in the picker. Confirm the product still exists in Shopify and isn’t excluded by the picker’s current filters.
- The wrong variants received the file. Bulk attachment uses the parent product, so every variant inherits the asset. For variant-specific delivery, open the product and attach files to individual variants.
- I selected assets on one page, then moved to another. Selection doesn’t carry across pages. Complete the action for the current page before moving on.
