Delivery & fulfillment
Make sure your Shopify store is set up correctly for digital products. Fileflare has a setup checklist that walks you through the required settings — things like shipping profiles, inventory tracking, and fulfillment service configuration. Most fulfillment issues come from a missed step there.
First, ask them to check their spam folder — email providers occasionally flag automated emails. You can also resend the download email from the Orders page with one click.
For the most reliable delivery, enable Thank You page download links and customer account download links alongside email. Both have 100% deliverability since they don’t depend on email at all.
Fileflare delivers files through Shopify orders, so there’s no way to send a standalone download link to someone who hasn’t purchased. The recommended approach for free samples is to create a free product in Shopify, attach a file with Fileflare, and let customers check out at $0. This way you also collect their email for future marketing.
Yes. Go to the Orders page, click on any order, and click Send now (or Resend download email if one was already sent). You can also update the customer’s email address before resending if needed.
Yes — this is how pre-orders work. When you attach a file to a product, it becomes available to everyone who has ordered that product, even if they ordered before the file was attached. You can optionally trigger an email to notify those customers.

Plans & storage
No. Fileflare doesn’t take any commission on any of your sales, regardless of which plan you’re on.
Yes — the free plan is permanently free with no time limit. You can upgrade to a paid plan with a 7-day free trial, or downgrade back to free at any time.
Total. For example, if your plan includes 10 GB of storage, that’s 10 GB across all your uploaded files combined. You could upload two 5 GB files, ten 1 GB files, or any combination that fits.
No. URL assets (links to externally hosted files) don’t use any storage. You can have unlimited URL assets on any plan.
If your asset library exceeds the storage limit on the plan you want to downgrade to, you’ll need to delete files until you’re within the new plan’s limit before you can downgrade.
Shopify sends a data deletion request within 48 hours of uninstalling. Once that request comes through, all your uploaded files and store data are permanently deleted. If you reinstall within 48 hours, your data may still be available.

Features & security
Fileflare integrates with Shopify’s built-in fraud analysis. You choose a risk threshold (low, medium, or high), and orders flagged at or above that level are automatically blocked from downloading. You can also manually block or unblock individual orders.
Yes. Fileflare syncs all products and variants from Shopify. You can attach different files to each variant — for example, different formats or sizes of the same product.
Yes, on every paid plan. A single product can have as many files as you need — useful for bundles, multi-chapter ebooks, or products that include multiple formats.
Yes. Fileflare can automatically stamp PDFs at download time with the buyer’s name, email, order number, IP address, or any combination. You can also overlay a logo or image. Each file can use a different stamp template.
Yes. The REST API lets you manage assets, products, and orders programmatically — upload files, attach them to products, trigger delivery emails, and more.
No. Fileflare runs entirely outside your theme — it doesn’t inject scripts or modify your storefront code. The only exception is if you enable customer account downloads, which requires a small snippet in your account template.
