Fileflare’s download page can render embedded videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, and Wistia. Paste an embed link or iframe code into the order’s description field, and the video plays inline alongside the customer’s download links — useful for selling courses, instructional content, or anything where you want a video alongside the file delivery.
Available on all paid plans. Embeds render in the order description block on the download page (the customer-facing page they land on after clicking a download link). Embeds are decorative — they don’t count toward streaming-only mode or affect download protection.
When you’d use this
- You sell a course and want a “watch this first” video next to the downloads.
- You sell software and want to embed a setup walkthrough alongside the files.
- You’re delivering a sample or preview video without making it a downloadable asset.
- You want to remove friction for customers who’d otherwise skip a “how to use” PDF.
Supported video providers
- YouTube — paste the watch URL or share URL
- Vimeo — paste the watch URL
- Loom — paste the share link
- Wistia — paste the embed URL
Other providers may work via raw iframe embed code, but the four above are tested and supported. If a provider doesn’t render, contact support with the URL.
How to embed a video
- In Fileflare, go to Orders (for a per-order video) or Settings → Download page (for a global default video shown on every download page).
- Find the Order description field.
- Paste the video URL on its own line. Fileflare auto-detects the provider and converts the URL to an embed.
- Save.
- Open the customer download page (or place a test order) to confirm the embed renders.
Common issues
- The video shows as a plain link instead of embedding — the URL might be a non-watch URL (e.g., a YouTube channel link instead of a video link). Use the canonical watch URL (
youtube.com/watch?v=...oryoutu.be/...). - Video plays but is private/unlisted — set the video to “Unlisted” (not “Private”) on YouTube. Private videos require login. Unlisted videos play for anyone with the link.
- Wistia or Loom video is region-blocked — check the provider’s geo-restriction settings. Fileflare doesn’t override the source video’s access rules.
- Customer can’t see the video on mobile — most browsers require user interaction to autoplay. Confirm the embed has a visible play button rather than expecting autoplay.
- Want different videos per product variant — not currently supported. The video lives at the order level, not the product level. Workaround: set the video globally and update the order description per-order if needed.
