Sort the download links on the customer download page by name, attach date, file size, or upload time. Useful when you have many files per product and want them in a specific order — alphabetical for ebook chapters, newest-first for course updates, etc.
Available on all paid plans. Sort applies to the download button + page method only — not the bullet-point list method. See delivery method settings if you need to switch.
When you’d use this
- You sell ebooks with chapters and want them in story order, not random.
- You deliver course material in a specific learning sequence.
- Customers see “the most recent file is buried” and you want newest-first.
- You want predictable A-Z ordering for clarity.
Sort options
- Asset name (A-Z) — alphabetical, ascending.
- Asset name (Z-A) — alphabetical, descending.
- When attached (Latest) — most recently attached to the product first.
- When attached (Oldest) — first-attached first.
- File size (Small) — smallest first.
- File size (Big) — largest first.
- Upload time (Latest) — most recently uploaded to Fileflare first (regardless of when attached).
- Upload time (Oldest) — earliest-uploaded first.
How to set the sort order
- In Fileflare, go to Settings.
- Open Digital Delivery page in the Branding section.
- Scroll to Asset priority sorting order.
- Pick the option you want.
- Save.
The new order applies immediately to all customer download pages.
Common issues
- Sort doesn’t apply to my customer’s download page — they’re probably on the bullet-point list method, not the button + page. Switch the delivery method (see callout above) or accept that bullets are unsorted.
- I want a custom order, not one of the presets — not currently supported. The presets cover the common cases. Workaround: rename your files with numeric prefixes (
01-Intro.pdf,02-Chapter1.pdf) so the A-Z sort gives you the order you want. - Order changes when I add a new file — by design (you’re sorting by attach date or upload time). Switch to A-Z if you want stability.
