Fileflare supports any language for customer-facing text — buttons, emails, download box copy, restriction messages. The text isn’t pre-translated; you customize each surface in your own language. For multi-language stores serving different countries with different languages, see dynamic language by country.

Available across all plans, but specific surfaces are gated: download box (Basic+), email templates (Growth+), customer accounts (Premium). Configure each surface separately. The Fileflare admin UI itself supports 33 built-in languages and automatically follows your Shopify admin language — whatever language you’ve set for your Shopify admin is the language Fileflare opens in, with nothing to switch.

When you’d use this

  • You sell to a non-English-speaking market and want every customer touchpoint in their language.
  • You’re translating your store and want Fileflare’s surfaces to match.
  • You’re customizing copy for a specific market (regional terms, brand voice, etc.).

Where text appears

Three customer-facing surfaces, each editable independently:

  • Download email — sent automatically after each paid order.
  • Download box — appears on the thank-you page and in customer accounts. Same box, same text, both surfaces.
  • Restriction messages — what customers see when they hit a limit (download count, IP, expiration, blocked).

Translate the download box (thank-you page + customer accounts)

  1. Fileflare → SettingsCheckout settings.
  2. Edit Download box title and Download box extra text in your target language.
  3. Save.

See customize the download box for details on what each field controls.

Translate the download email

Requires Growth plan or higher (email templates are gated).

  1. Fileflare → SettingsEdit email templates.
  2. Pick a template (Fulfillment, File replace, Pre-order release).
  3. Edit the body, subject line, and From name in your target language.
  4. Save.

See customize email templates for the available merge variables and styling options.

Translate restriction messages

  1. Fileflare → SettingsGlobal limitations.
  2. Scroll to the message customization section.
  3. Edit each restriction’s text in your target language.
  4. Save.

See customize restriction messages.

Multi-language stores

If you serve multiple languages and want each customer to see their own, you can’t do this directly through Fileflare’s email — Fileflare’s templates are single-language. Instead:

  1. Add Fileflare’s download link to Shopify’s order confirmation email.
  2. Use Shopify’s Translate & Adapt app to translate the order-confirmation email per language.
  3. Disable Fileflare’s download email (Settings → Emails → Disable all download emails).

Now customers receive a single localized email through Shopify, with download links inside. See dynamic language by country for the full walkthrough.

Common issues

  • I translated the email but customers still see English — make sure you saved the template (it’s per-template; if you only translated Fulfillment, the file-update and pre-order emails are still in English).
  • Download box on customer accounts is in old language — Shopify caches account-page content. Reload in incognito to see the latest, or wait a few minutes for the cache to invalidate.
  • Some text is still in English even after translation — system-generated text (e.g., file size displays) inherits Shopify’s locale, not Fileflare’s. Customer’s browser locale controls some of this.
  • The Fileflare admin is in the wrong language — the admin interface follows your Shopify admin language automatically. Change your language in Shopify admin (under your account’s language setting) and Fileflare will match it the next time you open the app.
  • I want different text per country — see the multi-language section above. Single-language Fileflare can’t dynamic-switch on its own.
